032_Indoor Pool Frauenfeld

In 1973, the city of Frauenfeld commissioned a sports pool that was considered generous for the standards of the time. In 1999 and 2003, it was partially renovated and minimally expanded, and a whirlpool was added. Despite these renovations, the majority of the building structure and technical facilities still date from the original construction year 1973. Due to the reconfiguration of the various infrastructure areas, the entrance zone was placed one floor lower. This imposes new requirements on accessibility and, consequently, the design of the surrounding area.

Seating and bicycle parking are covered by a generous roof at the entrance of the bulding. Parking has been limited to a few spaces for disabled persons. This creates additional space for tree planting, uncovered bicycle racks, and bus drop-off.
