112_School Building Leonhard

The renovation of the gym roof makes a complete redesign of the schoolyard necessary. The goal is a climate-adapted, user-friendly outdoor space. Planned are a green seating pergola, a nature-inspired courtyard, and a sports field that can be used flexibly, all coming together to form a cohesive and sustainable overall concept. The focus is on reducing heat, promoting biodiversity, and circular economy.

The measures create a versatile outdoor space that combines relaxation, exercise, and ecological sustainability. Targeted interventions reduce heat islands, strengthen biodiversity, and ensure the long-term usability of the school grounds. A sheltered seating area with a light pergola adds more comfort to the outdoor space.

Native climbing plants provide natural shade and support local biodiversity. For the structural elements, recyclable materials like wood, metal, and glass blocks are used, giving them a new purpose as seating and plant features.
